Anthurium 'Deco Purple' (often found as Anthurium andreanum variants in NZ) is a stunning, low-maintenance indoor plant featuring large, waxy, deep purple flowers and glossy, heart-shaped leaves.
Exotic flowers of the Anthurium have a distinctive air of luxury with large waxy flowers against a backdrop of glossy heart-shaped leaves. The flowering extends over a number of months with each bloom lasting for many weeks.
Anthurium's are relatively easy to grow and maintain. Place with filtered light and keep out of direct sunlight. Anthuriums are a tropical plant but will tolerate temperatures down to 15 degrees Celsius. Water regularly and avoid drying out. Anthuriums prefer reasonable humidity. Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser during the summer months and ensure a good quality peat based mix is used when re-potting. Tolerant to most diseases but can be affected by aphids, scale and mites.
