Large, informal double blooms of coral rose are produced early to late season on a vigorous upright grower.
DESCRIPTION: hybrid group from C. japonica and C. saluenensis. Large, evergreen shrub with attractive, glossy, dark green foliage. Profuse, large, showy flowers are borne in early winter to mid spring. Cold hardy.
POSITION: Morning sun or part shade. Shelter from the hot afternoon sun and wind. Can be planted under large trees.
SOIL: Well drained, slightly acidic soil. Before planting combine soil with organic matter for best results.
CARE: Keep moist especially in hot, dry weather. Mulch with compost, leaf mould or other organic matter to keep roots cool. Do not allow mulch to touch the trunk. May be lightly trimmed to shape in spring. Feed in spring with a camellia fertiliser or a complete organic fertiliser. Avoid lime.
